Hidden Opportunities in a Call from a Telemarketer.

How Do YOU Feel About Cell Phone Solicitations?

If you are cool with your day being interrupted by an “Unknown Caller”  you may consider scribbling your own phone number on the wall somewhere.

However, if you are like me and highly annoyed by this interruption I have come up with a Compromise and a Solution.

First the Compromise:
What if, every time a telemarketer places a call they have to pay the recipient of that call a fee,  $5 per call credited to the recipients phone bill (mobile or landline).  I would not mind solicitations so much if they put some skin in the game.

My two year contract on an iPhone6 costs $85 per month with Verizon. I pay this money for my convenience. In no universe would a sane person pay $85 a month, over $1200 per year for a complete stranger wanting only to help himself can call and interrupt meals and sleep. Do people actually buy from telemarketers or make donations over the phone, giving credit card info to an unknown caller? Have you ever been injured trying to get to the phone only to hear the voice of a robot or someone reading a sales script? A lot, lots of people get injured. 

Ask yourself: Self, how much money do you spend for service on your cell phone every month? Who do you actually want to have contacting you on the phone that YOU pay for. What was the price of your phone? Did you know? The Apple iPhone X is coming out in October with a price tag of $999.00 or $1149.00!

Once words are said to let the telemarketer know that they have interrupted the day and it is not appreciated, they are often quick to point out that they are just doing their job. “Well guess what. I was just doing my job too until you called, my time and work is also important.”

Here is the Solution:
Turn their sales call around so you both can benefit, I am a Wellness Advocate with DoTerra,  If you re also an essential oil educator here is an example you might try. Say something like this in your own words and appropriate to the service you provide. “I have observed that you have an outstanding ability to talk to new people and you are not afraid to be told “no.” Are you open to natural health solutions?”

Whether their answer is yes or no, Respond, “Would you like to be your own boss and be part of company where you have the potential to create a passive residual income while helping others learn do the same?” 

When they say “YES,”
Ask for their contact info and share your website info.

If for some crazy reason they tell you “No,”
“Feel free to save my number so when the timing is right for you we can talk again.“
