Fiskars Micro-Tip Pruning Snips work well on very fine stems and leaves. Look at them they are very pointy and sharp. If you get poked by them you will bleed. They ARE that sharp, so be careful. In addition to being sharp they are precise and sturdier than they look. If you are looking to cut through any kind of thick woody stem you will want to select another tool.

Be reasonable with your expectations of the Fiskars Micro-Tip Pruners. These Snips are great for small cuts such as trimming buds on medicinal plants that may or may not be legal in your jurisdiction. I have a friend that says these are the best for that…

They work very well on plumbago and coleus they cut thru slightly dry branches on night blooming jasmine and other similar plants. If you are interested in doing water gardens or container water gardens I suggest you try these. Great for trimming delicate roots on water plants and removing extra leaves on water lettuce.

When I lived in South Florida I bought these micro-snips for my bonsai trees.

For many years I trained junipers into beautiful miniature trees. These clippers performed poorly on most of the cuts I made to those sappy sturdy little trees. They would do it but there was a better tool for that job. They work well to train bougainvillea when shaping young branches. You will want to choose a larger pruner for larger cuts. Of the fiskars garden tools I have used these I would buy again.
