Where would I be without Pinterest? Of all forms of social media, Pinterest is my favorite. I was always clipping photos out of magazines, sometimes one page would hold two photos, that I wanted to save, one on each side of the page, What a nightmare!! I would have to decide which side of the page to put face up in my pile of clippings of random ideas in my pile of disarray. We no longer find ourselves quietly tearing pages out of magazines in waiting rooms. Without Pinterest I may have never known how badly I wanted to have my own coffee bar. With out Pinterest I may not have been so inspired to turn an ordinary IKEA BILLY BOOKCASE into something extra-amazing.
This is how I came to design my very own at Home IKEA BILLY BOOKCASE COFFEE BAR HACK!
Using a BILLY BOOKCASE as the frame, or backbone of my coffee bar I made some simple inexpensive additions creating a unique fun little area dedicated to my home brew. My coffee bar will be the watering hole of our home, serving Berkey water, Organic coffee, tea, and home brewed Kombucha.
The best part is this bar is completely flexible. The spray paint chalkboard allows a quick and spontaneous theme change at any time. Currently the theme is Wonderland.
The fabric on the back panel of the bookshelf is attached with Liquid starch and can be changed within a short time or removed completely.
The chalkboard and upper shelves are attached to the wall.
If I get tired of the dark wood stain, it can be painted or removed entirely as the stained wood pieces are not permanently attached to the bookcase. Gravity holds the illusion together.
Here is the finished product, who am I kidding, there is a lot more fun to be had here.
